SPICES

Smoked Paprika

Great way to get that delicious smoky flavor without grilling.

Ancho Chile Powder

Smoky chile pepper with a deep, rich but mild flavor. I use this in all my Mexican dishes, but it also adds a nice depth to stews, meats, and even popcorn.

Celery Salt

Used in so many southern dishes and adds a nice hint of flavor to simple sides like potato salad, deviled eggs, and coleslaw.

Five Spice Blend

This mixture of star anise, black pepper, cinnamon, fennel, and cloves is commonly used in Chinese cooking. I add a pinch to marinades when grilling and even to homemade barbeque sauce. It is also one of my favorites with wild salmon.

Herbs de Provence

This versatile French blend of savory, fennel, thyme, rosemary, and lavender is a pantry staple. I love adding it to pasta dishes, tomato sauce, and pizzas. It makes the most delicious roasted chicken you will ever taste and as strange as it may sound, it is unbelievable on steaks – lavender and beef are one of my favorite combinations.
