Classic Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary’s hardly need a special occasion to be served, but for my family we serve them on game days as well as pre-lunch cocktail after a morning quail hunt.

Cheddar and Sausage Breakfast Casserole

This breakfast dish is easy to make ahead and is perfect for weekend houseguest. You can use any good quality white bread from your local bakery.

Fig Preserves

These are definitely worth making when figs are in season in the summer. I enjoy my preserves year round in all kinds of dishes from roasted meats to desserts.

Strawberry Balsamic Jam

This recipe is from an excellent book, Well-Preserved by Eugenia Bone. I agree with her, this recipe is best when using fresh, in season strawberries. The jam is not only amazing on toast, but it compliments goat cheese and ice cream too!

Homemade Granola

This granola is sweetened with cane syrup giving it a rich, southern flavor. If you can’t find cane syrup in your area then substitute with maple syrup. Serve with yogurt and fresh fruit for a satisfying breakfast.
