Jewel, a wonderful Southern cook, was a huge part of my life while growing up. She always made the most delicious “cobbage,” as she called it. I didn’t realize how easy it was to make until I got old enough to cook.
FIRST Preheat oven to 350°. Put butter in a 9×13 glass baking dish; bake until butter is melted. Set aside.
NEXT In a medium bowl, combine flour, milk, ¾ cup sugar, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, toss peaches, blueberries, and remaining 2 tablespoons sugar.
LAST Pour batter into dish over melted butter, but do not stir. Spoon fruit over batter along with ½ cup fruit juice from bottom of bowl. (Discard any extra juice.) Do not stir; bake 25 minutes, or until crust browns.
NOTE Use 3½ cups of any type of fresh fruit.

I'm making this tonight! Got a fresh load of GA peaches yesterday. I used to love Jewel's cooking! Mama still has Lane's old cookbook and I love to look through it.
